Xiaomi launched the Mi Band 4 fitness band in India on Tuesday at a price of Rs 2,299. This is for the standard edition. The Mi Band 4 is also available with NFC for enabling digital payments and generally faster connectivity in China – Xiaomi isn’t bringing that to India for now. The Mi Band 4 will be available from buying from Mi.com/in, Amazon India and Mi Homes from September 19.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band has become the industry standard as far as value for money fitness bands are concerned. The Mi Band 4 takes things to an all new level by adding a curved color display, a six-axis accelerometer and built-in microphone so the band can also respond to voice commands. All this, and the Mi Band 4 continues to be surprisingly affordable.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 specs and features

The main highlight of the Mi Band 4 is its color OLED display that’s nearly 40 per cent bigger than the outgoing Mi Band 3 – more precisely, the Mi Band 4 comes with a 0.95-inch AMOLED color display with a 120x240 pixel resolution and 2.5D scratch-resistant glass. The color AMOLED display allows Xiaomi to bring custom watch faces to the Mi Band 4 – there are as many as 77 colorful dial themes on offer here. Adding some more color to the Mi Band 4 is a choice of five distinct bands. Moreover, existing Mi Band 3 straps can be used with it, “increasing its versatility.”

The Mi Band 4 retains the continuous heart rate monitor and sleep quality index features of the Mi Band 3, and adds a new six-axis accelerometer into the mix for enhanced tracking including swimming stroke recognition - the Mi Band 4 is 5ATM-certified which means that it is swim-proof. There’s also a microphone built-in now so users will be able to access voice commands and control IoT devices with the Mi Band 4.

Speaking of battery life, the Mi Band 4 boasts of a 20-day battery life on single charge.
