10X Optical Zoom Cameras Within Smartphones Could Go Official Soon

Chinese smartphone brand Oppo which is now seemingly on a smartphone launch spree in India is now rumoured to showcase 10X optical zoom for smartphones, apparently for incorporation within a future smartphone. Here, it is worth remembering that Oppo had showcased a 5X zoom camera within a smartphone at the 2017 edition of the Mobile World Congress.

Now, as per a MyDrivers report (translated), Oppo would showcase 10X optical zoom technology within a smartphone, in an event to be held on January 16. This event could see an all-new smartphone series from Oppo as well; these could practically sport cameras with 10X optical zoom.

Additional technical details regarding the Oppo 10X optical zoom camera smartphone are yet to surface at this juncture, hence if you are an Oppo loyalist do keep regular checks.

In related news, Oppo is now a member of the Wireless Power Consortium which means that future flagship Oppo smartphones could support Qi wireless charging functionality. Also, if you own a OnePlus 5T or OnePlus 5, then the much-expected Android 9.0 (Pie) OS update should now be live for your smartphones. Users can also manually check for newer over-the-air (OTA) notifications representing Android Pie OS update. The update has started seeding a relative while ago which means that now the newer Android Pie firmware could have practically expanded its rollout footprint.
