Airtel Offering Enhanced LTE Data and Validity to Prepaid Subscribers
Airtel ‘s Rs 448 tariff plan for prepaid users now seems to be offering additional data and validity. The scheme offers 1.5GB 4G/3G data for 82 days; up from 1 GB per day.
Airtel ‘s Rs 448 tariff plan for prepaid users now seems to be offering additional data and validity. The scheme offers 1.5GB 4G/3G data for 82 days; up from 1 GB per day. This initiative is now live and seems to be for PAN-India prepaid subscriber base.
The official Airtel recharge portal is also carrying details of the “tweaked” Rs 448 plan; the scheme offers unlimited voice calling; free incoming and outgoing calls during roaming; along with 100 free text messages per day.; along with 1.5GB 4G/3G data per day. Validity of the plan is 82 days.
Also, the Rs 399 plan has now seemingly been extended to 84 days; and all benefits of the Rs 448 scheme are applicable here except the fact that the former offers only 1GB data per day.
Now, these latest prepaid scheme tweaks and revisions are in line to act as “New Year offers” by major telcos in a bid to retain their current subscriber base more than attracting new customers. These have also come at a time when Reliance Jio - a potential rival to incumbent telcos has been on a roll as far as announcing low-cost offerings are concerned. Hence, healthy competition between Jio and the incumbent telcos are only but imminent at any given juncture.
Here, it is also worth noting that Airtel also recently introduced the Rs 169 prepaid plan; apparently to select circles; to offer unlimited voice calls, free roaming, 100 text messages, and 1GB 4G/3G data per day’ for a 28 day period. State-owned BSNL also has a Rs 485 plan which is valid for a proper 90 days offering unlimited calls and 1.5GB 3G data along with free incoming/outgoing calls while on roaming. This scheme is seemingly applicable to select telecom circles of BSNL. You could check out and share thought on new validity plan of telcos and the healthy competition in the telecom sector.
