Now, whether or not data tariffs in India are the lowest in the world, it is certainly worth noting that innovations in the country's telecom sector are at an all-time high. A testament to this fact is the recent spate of 4G-enabled feature-phones that have now penetrated increasingly even in the rural areas. These offer all essential applications (apps) such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube. Some of such feature phones even let users watch their favourite TV shows. These innovations are now slowly going brand-agnostic.
In related BSNL news, the telco is now aggressively pitching for users to avail its Rs 1699 unlimited plan. This is now active with an extended validity of 90 days and is valid for 455 days. It offers 250 minutes of voice calls free per day, along with 2GB data per day, and 100 text messages. Check out more, here.
