Now, this potentially accounts for interesting trivia, especially at this juncture when the Indian telecom sector is abuzz with hot discussions about the Bill and Keep (BAK)/Zero Termination Charge regime that is slated to come into effect from January 1 January 2020. Reliance Jio has already begun levying Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) of 6 paise per minute for voice calls made to non-Jio networks. This is as per TRAI guidelines of IUC.
Other incumbent telcos such as Vodafone and Airtel have not been levying IUC on customers for now. They are offering to pay themselves. This is best if it continues till the implementation of the zero termination charge. As for BSNL, the telco is all set to launch 4G after testing it intensively. The telco also recently trended on social media (Twitterati), under the hashtags "BSNL 4G", "Switch To BSNL", and "India Need BSNL".
