It looks like software issues on Google Pixel 3 XL don’t seem to be fading away. As per new reports, Google Pixel 3 XL users are now complaining about a new software bug that prevents users from using the phone’s camera. Some users have reported that they see a message “fatal error” while trying to access the Pixel 3’s camera.
Users have also complained about being unable to access third-party camera apps, courtesy of “can’t connect to camera” message. From then onwards, they lose access to the phone’s camera. The most shocking part, however, nothing seems to fix this issue at users’ end whatsoever, right from rebooting the device or using it in a safe mode to performing factory-reset.
Although it’s not known what may be causing this issue, Engadget reports citing Charged’s inspection of the camera code that improper release of a lock on the camera might be making other apps think that it’s still in use, further resulting in a crash. Google is yet to comment in these reports. Meanwhile, some of the affected users reportedly said that they were denied replacement units.
Some software glitch preventing Pixel 3 users from using the phone’s camera could be a pretty serious issue. After all, Google Pixel 3’s camera is one of the key selling points of the handset. And this is not the first time we have heard that Google Pixel 3 is facing problems. Previously, users had complained about the Pixel 3 XL's speaker emitting static noise, something they believed was a hardware issue. Google later confirmed that it’s a software issue and the fix is in works.
Last month, an embarrassing bug was reported that would show the second notch on the right side of Google Pixel 3 XL’s screen.
