Google Pixel 4 leak teases 'out of this world' photography chops
Even though Google has tried dropping specific hardware details this year well in advance, the soon-to-launch Pixel 4 just can’t escape rumor mills.
The Google Pixel can’t catch a break. Even though Google has tried dropping specific hardware details – including design – this year well in advance, the soon-to-launch Pixel 4 just can’t escape rumor mills. A new promo video of the alleged Pixel 4 has now leaked online highlighting some key features of the phone in question. Although nothing is new here, the video seems to present everything in a cohesive manner for much better understanding of what could be in store.
Key takeaways
There are three key takeaways. Let’s start with the Google Assistant. We all know that the Google Assistant lies at the forefront of all things Google these days, and each year, the global search engine giant tries to make it an even more integral part of Android – particularly in the Pixel. The Pixel 4 seems all set to get even more deeper integration with the Google Assistant, with the promo video showing off how it would let users control finer things within the Google Photos app – picking out photos basis of keywords you blurt out, and then seamlessly share them with others, has been highlighted in the promo video.
Soli
Then there’s Soli. We already know that the Pixel 4 will be able to recognize hand gestures and detect when a user is nearby. Google has confirmed that the Pixel 4 will be the first commercially available device with Soli – its in-house motion sensing tech that uses a miniaturized radar capable of sensing small motions around the device. The Pixel 4 will have a wide array of sensors at the top of the screen, including a new Soli chip that will bring Motion Sense features to the phone, allowing users “to skip songs, snooze alarms, and silence phone calls, just by waving your hand.” The promo video demos this functionality stressing how users will be able to interact with the Pixel 4 “without even touching it.”
A Pixel demonstration would be incomplete without photography chops. The Pixel 4 will come with dual cameras and improved night sight, but it is also rumored to come with 8x zoom (hybrid) and the ability to shoot photos of the night sky. The promo video in particular teases how the Pixel 4 will be able to capture out of this world low-light photos – quite literally.
