Huawei is gearing to launch its next-generation Mate 30 series phones at a standalone keynote event in Munich, Germany on September 19. The Mate 30 Pro will be of course the star of the show, but for those willing to splurge, Huawei will also have a limited-edition Mate 30RS Porsche Design - just like last year. Huawei makes these limited-edition phones in partnership with Porsche, with the Mate RS phones boasting of a tweaked design as well as beefed up internals. The Mate 30RS Porsche Design will be no different.
In fact, serial tipster Evan Blass has managed to get his hands on what seem like official renders of the Mate 30RS Porsche Design ahead of launch leaving nothing to the imagination from a looks perspective at least. The Mate 30RS Porsche Design, basis of the renders, will be clad in leather casing and boast of a vertical stripe extending from the top to the bottom. This vertical stripe will also be home to four cameras – while in the Mate 30 Pro, these cameras will be inside a circular module. The camera configurations are expected to be the same across the Mate 30RS Porsche Design and the Mate 30 Pro.
Some wait for change. We create it.

The Porsche Design Mate RS came with two fingerprint scanners – a physical on the back and another in-display one. The Mate 30RS Porsche Design will likely just go with an in-display solution – as per the renders.
Moving on, the Mate 30 Pro is expected to come with a “waterfall” kind of display which in simple terms means, it’s going to be a whole lot curvier on the sides. The Mate 30RS design seems flatter – like it is in Samsung Galaxy Note devices.
The Mate RS was also launched in a whopping 512GB storage variant – which was a first for any smartphone at that time. It would be interesting to see what Huawei has in store with the Mate 30RS.
The Mate 30 series is expected to have the premiere Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30, the more affordable mate 30 Lite, and the limited-edition Mate 30RS Porsche Design and Huawei will formally unveil them at a standalone keynote event in Munich, Germany on September 19.
