Airtel Rs 1699 is the company's newly-announced plan for its prepaid users in India, according to reports. It's tipped to offer a longer validity of 365 days. Those who purchase Airtel's supposed Rs 1699 plan should be able to continue availing its benefits for the period of one year.
In terms of benefits, Airtel Rs 1699 reportedly provides users with 1GB of high-speed 4G data per day. So at the end of its validity, users would end up availing a total of 365GB data at the cost of Rs 4.65 per 1GB. Apart from the data benefits, it's said to offers unlimited voice calls daily 100 SMS throughout its validity period, in addition to complimentary access to premium content on the Airtel TV app.
Meanwhile, Jio offers a similar plan to its prepaid users. Much like Airtel, Jio's one-year validity plan costs Rs 1,699. As far as data benefits are concerned, Jio Rs 1699 has an edge over Airtel Rs 1699 plan. Jio Rs 1699 plan offers daily 1.5GB of 4G data. As a result, users end up claiming a total of 547.5GB data with cost per one GB of Rs 3.10.
All other benefits concerning SMS and calling should remain pretty much the same. However, Jio Rs 1699 should be more value for money than Airtel's, courtesy of 182.5GB additional data at the exact same cost.
Earlier this month, a state-owned network operator BSNL Rs 1312 one-year validity plan for select prepaid users. Apart from unlimited calling, it offers 5GB data throughout the entire validity, which is nowhere close to what Jio and Airtel's offerings.
