Next-Gen Apple iPhone Handsets Could Be Assembled in India, From As Early As 2019

In good news to Apple iPhone users in India, next-gen premium handsets would be assembled in India as early as in 2019 by Foxconn. This means that multiple high-end handsets slated for launch and release in 2019 in India would be locally assembled.
The assembling process would take place in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu at Foxconn’s customized units. As per a LiveMint report that quotes Reuters, Foxconn would also make investments in the range of Rs 2500 crores towards expansion of the iPhones assembly plants; this is also believed by the Tamil Nadu government to lead to the creation of as many as 25000 jobs in the state.
Multiple Apple handsets were also assembled in Bengaluru through a local manufacturing player. Now, the future handsets are reportedly set to be assembled in Tamil Nadu for a nationwide release.
In related news, if you are an Apple loyalist, then the Cupertino-based company’s iPhone 7 has received huge price cuts and is currently selling at Rs 35000; which represents a near 33% discount from its original pricing of Rs 52370. Flipkart has made this initiative live and this would be live till December 29 2018. This is the Apple iPhone 7 Rose Gold variant that comes with 32GB internal storage.
Apart from the iPhone, other prominent handsets to have received the price cuts, on Flipkart, include the likes of Realme C1(selling at Rs 7499), Huawei Honor 7A (Rs 7499), Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (Rs 12999, and Xiaomi Poco F1 (at Rs 17999). Along with these, there is also the Realme 2 Pro is selling at Rs 12990 and Nokia 5.1 at Rs 9999. Also, Flipkart recently discounted premium smartphones to an extent of Rs 6000 as part of a custom offer. These handsets included Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Realme C1, Motorola One Power, Google Pixel 2XL, and more phones.
