Nokia 220 4G Feature Phone Not Running Kai OS Launched, Could Be The True-Blue Competition To Reliance Jio’s JioPhones
The Nokia 220 4G-LTE phone could hit India very soon.
There now seems to be a true-blue competitor to the Reliance Jio JioPhone 4G feature phone range, in the form of the Nokia 220 4G feature phone that is also 4G-LTE enabled and supports 4G calls over 4G networks. For long, since the launch of the JioPhone 4G feature phone series, there have been many 4G-enabled feature phones including that from Nokia but these did not attract eyeballs.
Now, the Nokia 220 4G seems custom made for the Indian scenario, on paper, because such 4G-enabled value-for-money devices have a significantly huge chunk of user base almost on par with that of smartphones. The Nokia 220 4G has a price tag of 39 Euros ( Rs 3000 approximately) and there is a realistic chance that the phone could get a customized Indian launch in the near future.
This is because the Nokia 220 4G offers dual SIM-card slots – a feature that attracts Indian mobile phone users more than their counterparts in other regions of the world. Other key technical specifications of the 4G-compatible feature phone include a 1200mAh battery which is claimed to offer a standby time of up to 27 days. This should theoretically offer decent talktime as far as feature phone standards are concerned. Then, the Nokia 220 4G is driven by a custom software, and not KaiOS
Finally, with Nokia 220 4G potentially set to compete with the JioPhones in India, the latter comes with a 2000 mAh battery (a much recent JioPhone 2) that offers talktime of up to 6 hours and an approximate 150 hour standby time.
