Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has for long been expected by loyalists and the consumer technology enthusiasts alike to launch next-gen smartphones this year with a 5G-compatible variant a part of this lineup. Now, there are fresh rumours that seemingly 5g-edition of probably the OnePlus 7.

As per technology tipster Ishan Agarwal, there could be a OnePlus 7 5G edition - on the apparent lines of a OnePlus 7 Pro and this is also speculated to bear model number GM1920. However, the tipster also hints that there could be changes in this edition, and is not known if OnePLus would release the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G edition - there could be different 5G phones from OnePlus- under a different nomenclature.

Nonetheless, the above rumours certainly add substance to earlier ones that had strongly hinted that there would be 5G-compatible handsets from OnePlus. Here, it is worth noting that Samsung recently made official a 5G version of the Galaxy S10 Plus. Other brands are also expected to follow suit as far as joining the 5G smartphones bandwagon is concerned.
