OnePlus 7 Pro price and variants leak ahead of May 14 launch
The OnePlus 7 Pro will be OnePlus’s first true flagship designed from ground up to take on other flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S10 – understandably, the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a higher price tag.
OnePlus is gearing to launch the OnePlus 7-series on May 14 – that's right, multiple OnePlus 7 phones will be launched on May 14. These include the vanilla OnePlus 7 and a Pro variant that has been subject of numerous leaks as well as teasers from OnePlus itself. The OnePlus 7 Pro will be also accompanied by a 5G-ready variant for select markets. While the OnePlus 7 will be successor to the OnePlus 6T, the OnePlus 7 Pro will be OnePlus’s first true flagship designed from ground up to take on other flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S10 – understandably, the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a higher price tag.
According to a new report, the OnePlus 7 Pro will be available in as many as three configurations - 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB. While the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro will reportedly cost Euros 749, the top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is said to be priced at Euros 819. The price of the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is unknown at this point of time. It is said to come in Mirror Grey, Almond, and Nebula Blue gradient colour options.
OnePlus, so far, has managed to undercut legacy brands like Samsung and Apple, by offering high-end specs at lower prices – but the OnePlus 7 Pro should be different.
Which means, the OnePlus 7 Pro will have to really special to justify its higher asking price. OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be fast and smooth, seemingly hinting at the phone’s much-rumoured curved Quad-HD+ resolution Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate – both of which will be a first for OnePlus. All OnePlus flagship phones have had full-HD+ screens with 60Hz refresh rate so far. Faster refresh rate screens have been limited to high-end gaming phones so far – Apple's iPad Pro also has uses a variable refresh rate display under the name of Pro Motion. The OnePlus 7 Pro could be the first mainstream smartphone to have a 90Hz display, if at all the rumours come out to be true.
The OnePlus 7 Pro is further said to come with triple rear cameras – main + wide-angle + telephoto. Also said to be on the cards are 30W Warp charge, dual (stereo) speakers and USB 3.1 for data-syncing.
The OnePlus 7 Pro will reportedly come with a pop-up selfie camera like the Vivo V15 Pro.
The processor inside the OnePlus 7 Pro will most likely be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Details about the vanilla OnePlus 7 are scarce but it is said that it will come with a flatter bezel design, no pop-up selfie cam, and dual rear cameras.
