Oppo R17 Pro with in-display fingerprint reader coming to India in December

Oppo R17 Pro will arrive in India in December, RepublicWorld has learnt from a source connected with the company. Meanwhile, Oppo’s India unit has been teasing the arrival of its R-series smartphone on their social media channels. The R17 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to fall under Oppo’s R-series portfolio.

Going by the social media teasers, Oppo’s upcoming handset in India will focus primarily on the camera. It sports a display with extremely narrow bezels and a waterdrop notch on the top. The new Oppo smartphone seems to pack in all the new smartphone trends like notched screen and in-display fingerprint reader.

The key highlight of Oppo R17 Pro, it features a triple-camera unit on the rear. It houses 12MP (f/1.5) + 20MP (f/2.4) + 3D Time of Flight (TOF) sensor with f/2.6 aperture. Up front is a 25MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

This one too sports an in-display fingerprint reader, much like what we have seen on phones such as OnePlus 6T and Vivo V11 Pro. It sports a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED screen on the front, resulting in 402 pixels per inch (ppi) density. But there's more to the story.

Another thing about Oppo R17 that stands out is the design. The handset flaunts a gorgeous-looking screen and gradient design on the rear. It will offer two colour options to choose from: Emerald Green and Radiant Mist. It weighs 183 g and measures 7.9 mm in thickness. It runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 operating system.

Inside is Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, in addition to Adreno 616 for graphics, 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The phone has all standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC etc
