Oppo R17 Pro with in-display fingerprint scanner, Super VOOC launched in India: Price, hardware specs

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo launched its most-awaited Oppo R17 Pro in India. The handset was intially unveiled in China back in August. Oppo R17 Pro is priced at Rs 45,990 for 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. Before we discuss specs, let’s quickly get all the launch offers out of our way.

Oppo R17 will be up for grabs via Amazon, Flipkart and Paytm Mall starting 7th December. Apart from that, it will also be sold via select offline stores across the country such as Reliance Digital, Croma, Poorvika, Sangeetha Mobiles, Big C, Airtel, Bajaj Electronics, Vijay Sales etc. Oppo R17 Pro will be available in two colour options: Emerald Green and Radiant Mist.

Launch offers include 10 per cent cashback for HDFC credit and debit card users. Jio, on the other hand, is offering 3.2TB high-speed 4G data with benefits worth up to Rs 4,900. Furthermore, customers can benefit from one-time screen replacement, no-cost EMIs and additional discount of Rs 2,000 on the exchange.

Some of the key highlights of Oppo R17 Pro, it sports an in-display fingerprint reader. Apart from that, it supports Super VOOC fast charging, which is probably the fastest charging method so far. Oppo R17 Pro happens to be the first Oppo handset in India to feature in-display fingerprint reader and Super VOOC. It also houses 12MP + 20MP + 3D TOF triple rear cameras. Up front is a 25MP selfie camera.

Oppo R17 Pro sports a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED screen on the front, resulting in 402 pixels per inch (ppi) density. Inside is Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor coupled with Adreno 616 GPU for graphics. Oppo R17 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo with ColourOS 5.2 skin on top. The standard set of connectivity options include Wi-Fi (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, OTG, Type-C. It packs a 3,700mAh battery under the hood.

During the launch, Oppo also announced the R17 without shedding a light on its availability. Oppo R17 is priced at Rs 34,990. In a nutshell, Oppo R17 is a toned-down version of R17 Pro. As for the differences, Oppo R17 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor. It houses 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras. All other specs remain more or less the same.
