Xiaomi India is now in the Guinness Book of World Records. This is due to their social initiative, and not due to their low-cost smartphones. Xiaomi’s Children’s Day initiative of distributing school supplies and notebooks to children garnered them an entry into the Guinness scheme of things. Xiaomi India donated 1,10,000 notebooks to school-going children.
Xiaomi’s Guinness entry
The above was one of the two Guinness records that the Manu Kumar Jain-led company (in India) seemingly notched up. The second record was for the largest notebook mosaic that Xiaomi India created for Children’s Day 2019. This aspect has also seemingly gone viral on micro-blogging site Twitter. Twitterati seems stumped with Xiaomi’s social initiative. Here, remember that this has nothing to do with smartphones (and electronics).
Truly mazaaa aaagayaaa 😍😍 best children's day video ever seen and that also by a tech brand. Really Xiaomi has its SWAG. #HappyChildrensDay pic.twitter.com/94W3ixKQ3c

Earlier, when Manu Jain teased the probability of an announcement during Children’s Day, a large number of people had expected the company to dole out smartphones and even laptops with customized content for school-going children. The company surely surprised this time around. Its societal focus also has been coming to fore increasingly, of late. It launched a Water Purifier and a beard trimmer recently. Hence, the latest offering of notebooks could sit well on the minds of its loyalists. But the company should also be listening more to feedbacks, especially concerning overheating issues within some of its Redmi smartphones, increasingly from now as well.
