The launch of Xiaomi's Poco F1 Lite could be imminent as the device's listing has now been spotted on a benchmarking website Geekbench. The listing reveals some of the key specifications of the handset. First things first, the listing clearly reveals the phone's branding as Xiaomi Poco F1 Lite. So there is absolutely no need for speculation around what phone is it or what it might be called.
According to a Geekbench listing, Xiaomi Poco F1 runs Android 9 Pie with the company's MIUI on top. Powering the handset is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 512 GPU for graphics.
Xiaomi's Poco sub-brand that focus on affordable flagship smartphones is immensely popular among Indians. Poco's first smartphone - the Poco F1 first launched back in 2018 and has managed to reach millions of sales since then.
Amid all rumours and speculations around the Poco F2, Poco may be looking to strengthen its presence in the country with the introduction of Poco F1 Lite. In fact, we reported in December that Xiaomi is not launching Poco F2 anytime soon, but a new Poco F1 variant may be coming soon.
Earlier this year, a popular concept designer Benjamin Geksin shared a concept render revealing what the upcoming Poco F2 could look like. According to the render, Poco F2 is likely to feature a waterdrop notch design above the display, unlike the Poco F1.
Last year’s Poco F1 came in with a wider display cutout to accommodate a 20MP front-facing camera for selfies, an earpiece, a front-mounted LED flash and an ambient light sensor. With Poco F2, however, Poco is expected to focus on a single camera and a barely-visible earpiece.
Last month, Poco rolled out Android Pie based MIUI 10.2.2.0 Global Stable ROM update in India enabling support for 960fps slow-motion video recording and improved low-light mode to Xiaomi’s value flagship.
