Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will become official in India today. Xiaomi will make an announcement at a launch event in New Delhi. The phone comes in two memory configurations: 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro successor will be available to purchase for the first time tomorrow November 23 on Flipkart as part of the Black Friday sale.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected in multiple colour options: Blue, Black, Rose Gold and Red. We take a look at what makes the Redmi Note 6 Pro possible as far as its features and hardware specifications are concerned.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Design
Starting with the design, what sort of remains unchanged is the metal finish on the rear of the smartphone. It resembles the Redmi Note 5 Pro to a great extent except for a notch cutout and that blends in with the screen. The notch is relatively wide compared to many other Android phones out there and certainly, it does not reflect the new trend that has been catching up lately: A waterdrop notch!
The handset measures 8.26mm in thickness and weighs 182 g. Much like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, this one has a vertically-stacked dual rear camera unit that sticks out a bit. But it should not be much of a concern. Bezels around the screen have become significantly thinner, resulting in more screen real estate.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Features, Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch 1080p display with 19:9 aspect ratio, resulting in 403 ppi pixel density. The handset is further protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass layered on top of the screen.
As far as photography is concerned, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera with dual pixel autofocus, HDR, dynamic bokeh, burst mode, face recognition, electronic video stabilisation (EIS) for video recording and more. For selfie enthusiasts, it houses 20MP + 2MP dual cameras on the front for portrait selfies.
In terms of security, the Redmi Note 6 Pro has features such as a fingerprint reader and face unlock. That aside the standard set of sensors include IR blaster, gyro, accelerometer, distance sensor, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, hall effect sensor etc.
Inside is still the Snapdragon 636 chip with Adreno 509 GPU for graphics, similar to its predecessor. Hence, overall performance is expected to be on par with the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The handset runs Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 on top. Last but not least, it packs 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
