Xiaomi says it sold over 15 lakh devices in Amazon, Flipkart sales

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi said it sold more than 1.5 lakh devices in the first few hours of festive sale opening across Big Billion Days on Flipkart, Great Indian Shopping Festival on Amazon and Diwali With Mi on mi.com. Majority of the devices sold were from the smartphone category, Xiaomi said. Apart from smartphones, Xiaomi managed to sell products across various other categories including Mi Ecosystem devices, Accessories and Mi TVs. Full list of Xiaomi devices includes Xiaomi smartphones, Mi TVs, Mi Bands, Mi Power Banks, Mi Earphones and other Mi Ecosystem devices and accessory products.

Xiaomi also said more than 10 devices were sold per second in the first few hours of the festive sale opening across all three platforms: Flipkart Big Billion Days, Amazon Great Indian Festival and  Mi.com Diwali with me sales. Following is the list of Xiaomi devices that saw a massive uptick in terms of the number of units sold from each category across all the e-commerce channels during the ongoing festive sale.

Amazon sold Rs 750 Cr worth of smartphones on Day 1 of festival sale

Xiaomi said five out of top 10 smartphones sold were Xiaomi smartphones. In the Smart TV category, Xiaomi said two out of top three Smart TVs sold were Mi TVs. In the wearable category, Xiaomi said two out of top three fitness bands sold were Mi bands. Again, in the power banks category, Xiaomi said two out of top three power banks sold were Mi Power Banks. In the security camera category, Xiaomi said two out of top three security cameras sold were Mi Security camera. Last but not the least, Xiaomi said its Mi Air Purifier 2S was top-selling in the Air Purifier category.

“The festive season of Dussehra/Diwali has always been the biggest shopping season for customers," said Raghu Reddy, Head of Categories and Online sales, Xiaomi India. "This year we launched several new Mi TVs, Redmi 8A and attractive offers on Redmi Note 7 series, Redmi 7, Redmi 7A etc."

In related news, Amazon said it sold smartphones worth Rs 750 crore within 36 hours of starting the sale on its platform. Apparently, there's been a massive uptick in the number of premium smartphones being sold on the e-commerce platform this time around, as expected. According to reports, e-commerce companies including Amazon could make close to 5 billion dollars worth of sale this festive season. The ongoing sale is to close on October 4.
