The state police across India have been making their presence felt on social media in a big way. However, no state police's social media account might have gained as much popularity this year as much as the Assam Police after its recent tweet on finding a huge amount of cannabis.

The state police across India have been making their presence felt on social media in a big way. However, no state police's social media account might have gained as much popularity this year as much as the Assam Police after its recent tweet on finding a huge amount of cannabis.
Its tweet had gone viral within less than a day and has currently over a thousand likes and five thousand retweets.
In the tweet, the Assam Police mocked those who were trying to move close to 600 kg of Cannabis around Chagolia Checkpoint. The Assam Police's Twitter account had posted saying:
'Anyone lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night? Don't panic, we found it. Please get in touch with Dhubri Police. They will help you out, for sure. Great job. Team Dhubri,' the tweet said.
Numerous state police forces etching out their presence on the social media has led netizens to not only find an easy way to seek redressal of their issues but also enjoy their tweets which are often funny and tinged with pop culture references.
After a major section of the media reportedly inaccurately that two film extras dressed like jihadi - terrorists were arrested by Mumbai Police, the force's Twitter account posted a GIF from the hit show 'The Big Bang Theory'.
'If you don't mind, I'd like to stop listening to you', the GIF said. It was accompanied with a message to Fake newsmongers which read: "You do not need to ‘process so much stupid’! Just send this to all the #FakeNews mongers #TheBigFactTheory".
