What makes selfie fun and exciting? Most of the online tips for capturing good selfies revolve around the subject's cuteness, posture and in some cases, getting the angle right. But none of these rules applies to a selfie when two full-grown gorillas want to be in it, do they? Well, this latest selfie shared by an anti-poaching ranger in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the proof.
This selfie is clicked by Ranger Mathieu Shamavu at the Virunga National Park. It was posted on the Facebook page of The Elite Anti-Poaching Units and Combat Trackers. The selfie has been shared on Facebook more than 21,000 times as of publishing this story.
The selfie comes with post caption as "Another Day at The Office..."
The Virunga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of late, unchecked and illegal poaching activities in the park are on the rise due to the recent military turmoil in the country. The Elite AntiPoaching Units and Combat Trackers is a group of 600 anti-poachers who are tasked to protect the gorillas at the Virunga.
The rangers at the Virunga National Park have posed for pictures and selfies with gorillas in the past as well, which goes to show the close bond between the humans and the gorillas. Gorillas are an endangered species due to detrimental human activity like poaching, civil war and habitat destruction. Meanwhile, this is how Twitterati reacted to this close bond between humans and the gorillas.
