According to the latest reports, the recorded TikTok downloads reached a total of 1.5 billion on the Android Play Store, and the iOS App Store combined. TikTok has reached another milestone of popularity among global audiences. According to reports, the TikTok app downloads have reached a total of 1.5 billion across the globe. With this achievement, TikTok has not only reached a new milestone, but it also secured itself a place in the list of the most downloaded apps 2019. According to the reports by Sensor Tower, India constitutes a total of 433 million Tiktok downloads to date and is leading the charts.

TikTok sits at the third position in the list of most downloaded apps 2019, just behind WhatsApp Messenger and Facebook Messenger. With a global figure of 614 million, TikTok downloads have been recorded to be one of the highest non-gaming app downloads for 2019. India alone totals up to a value of 277.6 million TikTok app downloads for 2019, with the developing nation China ranking at number 2 with 45.5 million TikTok downloads, and the USA third in the list with 37.6 million installs of the social media app.
The Chinese social media app reached 1 billion downloads earlier in February. It took only 9 months for the app to hit another 500 million installs. TikTok ranks among the most downloaded apps 2019, and it is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms. TikTok also released a lite version of the official app which accounts to a total of 2,33,308 downloads on the Google Play Store.

Musical.ly merger and other competition
In November 2017, TikTok’s parent company Bytedance spent an amount of $ 1 billion and acquired Musical.ly, a startup based out of Shanghai and headquartered in Santa Monica, California. TikTok officially replaced Musical.ly on August 2, 2018. TikTok has received immense competition with other apps offering similar features like Helo and Likee (Formerly Like).
