Khamenei led prayers for Haniyeh ahead of his burial in Qatar, having earlier threatened a "harsh punishment" for his killing. Haniyeh’s body will be transferred to Qatar's capital Doha for prayers and burial, Hamas said in a statement on July 31. The funeral processions on August 1 came with calls for revenge after the killing of Haniyeh in a strike blamed on Israel.
