Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, claiming that his entry into the country was a bad omen that led to India's defeat in the World Cup 2023 final match against Australia on Sunday. Speaking at a poll rally in Jalore, Rajasthan, Gandhi said, "Achh log bhale ladke waha rekha pe World Cup jaa hi, par panauthi harwa diya. Our boys were close to winning the World Cup but due to PM Modi's entry, they lost the match." Gandhi also accused PM Modi of claiming to represent OBCs in his earlier speeches, but later not doing anything to promote their development. "OBCs are more in number, but the Centre did not care about their development," he said.
