Israel brings in new weapon against Hamas; Arrow missile system deployed
Israel has deployed a new weapon its ongoing war against Hamas. Footage released by the Israeli Defense Ministry in November showed the Arrow missile defense system being used during the war between Israel and Hamas. The system was used operationally for the first time during the conflict to intercept missiles over the Red Sea. Iran-backed Houthi rebels have launched missiles at Israel's southernmost city of Eilat multiple times. The war, now in its sixth week, was triggered by Hamas' unprecedented October 7 surprise attack on Israel. Israel's response has brought unseen levels of death and destruction to Gaza's 2.3 million Palestinian residents, nearly two-thirds of whom have had to flee their homes with no safe refuge available in the besieged territory.
