US Reacts To PM Modi’s Russia Visit; Expresses Concern About New Delhi- Moscow Ties

The US on July 08 raised concerns with India over Russian ties amid Ukraine invasion. State Dept of Spox Matthew Miller called on India to emphasize on Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The comments came in the backdrop of PM Modi’s two-day Russia visit. Notably, this is PM Modi’s first visit to Russia since the Ukraine war. PM Modi landed in Moscow on July 08. India’s ties with Russia date back to the Cold-War era. Despite the Ukraine war, India chose not to participate in Western sanctions against Russia. The US has time and again raised concern about India’s ties with Russia.
