India's High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma, has denied any involvement in the murder of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, stating that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has severely damaged bilateral political relations. This comes after Canada designated Verma and other diplomats as "persons of interest" in the investigation into Nijjar's death. India recalled Verma and other diplomats earlier this month.
