Residents of Himachal Pradesh will now face taxation based on the number of toilet seats in their homes. The Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government, currently grappling with a financial crisis, has issued a notification detailing this new measure. The initiative is aimed at boosting state revenue while encouraging improved sanitation practices across the hill state.
