Over 150 people were injured, including eight in critical condition, in a fireworks accident during a temple festival near Neeleswaram late Monday. The injured were transported to multiple hospitals across Kasargod, Kannur, and Mangaluru, the police officials said. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was triggered when a fireworks storage facility near the Veerarkavu Temple caught fire, around midnight. Senior district officials, including the district collector and police chief, are present at the scene.
