Due to doubts over his fitness, the Mumbai selection committee has chosen to keep opener Prithvi Shaw out of the next Ranji Trophy encounter, according to the Indian Express. October 26 through 29 the squad is scheduled to play against Tripura at Agartala. According to sources, Shaw has been directed by selectors to follow a two-week fitness programme developed by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) coaches. Over his four innings in the two Ranji Trophy games so far, Shaw scored 7, 12, 1, and 39 not out. Prithvi Shaw has been under a lot of scrutiny over the past years given his seriousness towards the sport. Once termed as the ‘next Sachin Tendulkar of India’, the player has failed to reach his potential but still has the time to turn things around.
