'Neither of Us Being Paid': DOGE Head Elon Musk Responds to Elizabeth Warren's Jab
Responding to the post the tesla CEO shared that he is not getting paid for the job.
Donald Trump recently appointed billionaire Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency. While the formation of the new department has received praise, the initiative has also raised some eyebrows.
One such response came from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, who questioned the need for two people to handle a single role.
“The Office of Government Efficiency is off to a great start with split leadership: two people to do the work of one person. Yeah, this seems REALLY efficient,” she wrote.
In response, the Tesla CEO shared that he is not being compensated for the role.
“Unlike you, neither of us is being paid, so it is very efficient indeed. DOGE will do great things for the American people. Let history be the judge," he wrote.
What is the Department of Government efficiency?
In a statement, Donald Trump announced that the department was formed to "slash excess regulations" and "cut wasteful expenditures."
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (‘DOGE’). Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies—essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” the statement read.
