Guwahati: As Assam struggles with heavy rainfall and flooding, leaving many people abandoned and helpless, several individuals have come forward to help their fellow citizens.
One such person from Guwahati has gained significant attention online for her heartwarming gesture. Tulika Devi, a resident of Zoo Road, Guwahati, has won hearts for opening her doors to women stranded in the floods.
She took to Facebook to offer shelter to women facing difficulties returning home, providing bed and food without any cost.
Her post read "Any girls or women having trouble going home can stay at my house tonight. I can provide bed and food without any cost.''
This gesture has won many hearts and garnered appreciation.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a meeting on Tuesday to devise a comprehensive solution to address flash floods in Guwahati.
According to the Chief Minister the Ri-Bhoi district in Meghalaya on Monday received record rainfall of nearly 100 mm, which was one of the reasons for the flash flood in the city.
