Indian Air Force & Eastern Air Command, conducts an aerial display over Umiam Lake in Shillong

As part of the 91st anniversary celebrations of the IAF and HQ Eastern Air Command’s outreach initiative, an air display was conducted over Umiam Lake in Shillong, Meghalaya on Oct 20.

The display featured a flypast by various aircraft, including the Advanced Light Helicopter, Dornier, Rafale, and SU 30.

Additionally, the Chinook Helicopters once again took the centre stage performing their aerial manoeuvres.

According to the Ministry of Defence’s official statement, the aircraft formations 'showcased exceptional flying skills and professionalism,' including formation flying and other aerial manoeuvres.

The highlight and finale of the event was the helicopter formation flying display performed by the world-renowned Sarang Helicopter Display Team.

Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief of the Eastern Air Command, attended the event as the chief guest.

Previous air shows have been held over Bhojtal, Bhopal as a prelude to the main events that took place near Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on October 8.
