Air Marshal Sadhna S Nair is married to Air Marshal KP Nair (Retd) becoming the first Air Marshal couple in the history of the IAF.

She was previously the Principal Medical Officer at Training Command of the IAF located at Bangalore. The first woman officer to achieve this was Air Marshal Padma Bandopadhyay (Retd).

Air Marshal Sadhna Nair graduated from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and was commissioned into the IAF in Dec 1985. She has also trained abroad in CBRN Warfare and in Military Medical Ethics.

She has been awarded AOC-in-C (WAC) & CAS Commendations & Vishisht Seva Medal by the President for her meritorious service. Three generations of her family have served in IAF over the last 7 decades
