How To Make Ven Pongal At Home + Internet's Favourite Recipe

Ingredients

  • Raw rice -1cup
  • Moong dhal-½cup
  • Water_4 ½ cup water
  • Pinch of cumin
  • Pinch of asafoetida powder
  • Grated ginger -½ inch
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering

  • Oil-½ cup( for vanaspati I replace it with oil) can add ghee
  • Peppercorn-1tsp
  • Cumin-1tsp
  • Cashewnuts-10 to 15 nos
  • Ginger chop-½inch
  • Curry leaves -1sprig
  • Asafoetida powder -½tsp

Instruction

  • Add all the ingredients together into a pressure cooker - raw rice, moong dhal, water, pinch of cumin, pinch of asafoetida powder, grated ginger, salt to taste.
