Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima And 9 Others Killed in Plane Crash
The plane carrying 51-year-old Vice President Saulos Chilima left the capital, Lilongwe, but failed to make its scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport
New Delhi: Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima was killed in a plane crash, said Malawi President's office in a press release on Tuesday, June 11. A military plane carrying Malawi's vice president and nine others went missing Monday and a search was underway for the same. However, Chilima along with the 9 others onboard have been confirmed dead.
The plane carrying 51-year-old Vice President Saulos Chilima left the capital, Lilongwe, but failed to make its scheduled landing at Mzuzu International Airport about 370 kilometers (230 miles) to the north around 45 minutes later. The aviation authorities lost contact with the plane after it went “off radar”.
