Amitabh Bachchan will be inaugurating the upcoming International Film Festival that will be held in Goa.and  the same was announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and the event will commence on November 28, 2019. Speaking at the event, the Union Minister stated that for the first time a new section has been introduced to display Konkani films and that around seven of them will be allowed. Revealing exclusive details Javadekar informed that the government has allowed 4 additional screens which will enable people to watch 100 more movies, with more than 190 films being screened from 176 countries in the world.

In its golden jubilee year, the festival will screen 50 films by 50 female filmmakers to acknowledge the contribution of women in cinema, Javadekar said. Russia will be the partner country at the festival this year. Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Amitabh Bachchan''s selected seven or eight films will also be showcased at the movie gala.

Meanwhile, the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will honour superstar Rajinikanth with a special Icon of Golden Jubilee award, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced recently. The festival will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28 with close to 250 films from various countries to be screened at the premiere movie extravaganza. The minister also announced celebrated French actor Isabelle Huppert as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Amitabh Bachchan resumed shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) on October 23. The actor was recently admitted in Nanavati Hospital for his routine check-up. Posting pictures from the KBC set on his blog, Bachchan wrote, "YES … back to the grind .. front foot forward, head down, consuming all the days work and ready in dress and briefing for the KBC ‘Karmveer’ and a new cluster for the week ..". He also has Bollywood projects lined up in his kitty
