A British Airways (BA) stewardess has been suspended amid allegations that her boyfriend had an alcohol-fuelled fight with the pilot during a layover. The fight reportedly occurred at a Singapore hotel where the crew was staying before their connecting flight to London the next day. Natalie Flindall, the flight stewardess of a British Airways flight that was flying from Sydney to London, is currently under investigation for bringing her partner onto the flight, according to the reports.
Tipsy on drinks smuggled off BA
According to an anonymous source, the crew had allegedly smuggled drinks off the BA in-flight trolley and 'got plastered'. Flindall's boyfriend was invited and meant to take a back seat and enjoy the ride. But during the stopover period in Singapore, he got drunk and indulged in an alcohol-fuelled fight with the pilot. He had also wrestled with the pilot in the reception area of the Singapore hotel where the entire crew was staying between flights.
Now, Natalie is facing consequences for bringing her partner onto the flight. The stewardess hails from Reading and has served as a BA cabin crew for three years.
Highest standard of behavior expected: BA
The source added that Natalie has paid the price for her wrongdoing but the crew members want to know why the pilot escaped without facing action since he was also involved in the trouble. A spokesperson of BA said that the authorities expect the highest standard of behavior from their colleagues and will always take appropriate action against law-breakers.
This incident happened days after a BA flight from the Dominican Republic to Gatwick had to be diverted after a drunk passenger started shouting vile abuses at his partner. Despite efforts from the crew members, the refused to calm down. The plane was finally diverted to Shannon Airport in southern Ireland.
