An entertainment drive-in installed in a soccer stadium in Sao Paulo is the latest in a growing program of recreational options looking to boost morale among Brazilians as their country continues to grapple with a COVID-19 crisis.

The Palmeiras' soccer club pitch has been covered and sound facilities installed, adapted enough to receive up to 300 cars.

The entertainment industry was one of the first sectors of the economy to stop its activities during the pandemic and may be one of the last ones to reopen.

Nadia Uwagoya Taira came to watch the movie and said that adaptation is part of people's life now.

"Coronavirus was just one more thing to show us that things can happen at any time and that we have to prepare ourselves and to adapt."

The cinema drive-in also brought some Palmeiras soccer club supporters, like Alessandro Tessari.

"I'm a Palmeiras supporter, I'm always here at Allianz (stadium), but I've never imagined that I would be here watching a movie."

The program includes the exhibition of classic movies, shows, stand-up comedy and children's theatre.

The space opened on June 24th and will remain open until July 19th.

The price per car with a maximum of four people inside varies from 23 to 100 dollars.
