California: A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit Kern County on Tuesday around 9:09 pm (local time), centered about 14 miles northeast of Lamont, California, near Bakersfield in the United States. The quake was felt across Los Angeles and as far down as Orange County. Following the main tremor, the area experienced more than a dozen aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging from 4.1 to 4.5.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reports that aftershocks continue to affect the Grapevine area, situated between Santa Clarita and Kern County. Despite the seismic activity, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office has confirmed there have been no reports of damage within LA County. However, the LA Fire Department remains on high alert and is in earthquake mode.

The ongoing tremors are causing concern, but as of now, the immediate impact has been manageable with no significant damage reported. The situation continues to be monitored closely as aftershocks persist.
