The Canadian Prime Minister is all set to officially commence his Federal reelection campaign on Wednesday morning. He has sought permission from Governor General Julie Payette to dissolve Canada's parliament for Canada’s 43rd election which is scheduled on the 21st October.
Justin Trudeau all set for the upcoming elections
Lately, various Canadian parties have been organizing campaign-style events for weeks, but soon after September 11, these events will decline as strict rules on spending, campaigning, and advertising will apply.
Prime Minister Justin is all set to stand for the reelection process to talk about his accomplishments in the last term, focusing on the party’s work on job creation, reduction of child poverty, and indigenous relations while defending his influence on the SNC-Lavalin ethnic breach.
Leaders standing for the first time
On the hand, the opposition party leader, Andrew Scheer will be standing for the first time as the Party leader this election. Standing against Trudeau, Scheer will focus on crticising Trudeau's ethic record and performance on the international stage. According to the latest poll tracker, The Liberals and Conservatives stand neck-to-neck with 34 percent support and revealing that there are high chances of the Liberals to win the most seats but its highly uncertain that which party will get the majority.
Amongst the first-timers, NDP’s Jagmeet Singh is also standing for the upcoming elections, struggling to gain the third-party status as Green Party Elizabeth May works to make a breakthrough and build on the party's two seats in the House of Commons. Leader Maxime Bernier, under the fledgling People's Party of Canada, is also hopeful to set his mark by holding on to his own seat and bringing new MPs to Parliament under his party's banner.
The NDP has just under 13 percent support and appears to be on track to lose many seats. The Greens are short of just 11 percent and their support has increased immensely across the country.
