Donald Trump Returns to X Ahead of LIVE Interview With Elon Musk, Posts New Campaign Ad

Former President Donald Trump on Monday made a notable return to X (formerly Twitter), marking his first post on the platform in nearly a year. His comeback comes as he gears up for a highly anticipated live interview with X's owner, Elon Musk.

Trump's initial post featured a promotional image for the upcoming interview with Musk, scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The photo, showcasing a collage of Trump and Musk with the header “Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk live on X,” was accompanied by a winky face emoji and the caption “Enjoy!”

Earlier in the day, Trump shared a campaign ad titled “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” The ad, which runs for 2.5 minutes, was posted without a caption but quickly gained significant traction, racking up over 4.8 million views, 50,000 reposts, and 21,000 comments within an hour.

This marks only Trump’s second post on X since his account was reinstated following its suspension after the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. His first post after reinstatement was on August 24, 2023, featuring his mug shot from Fulton County, Georgia.

Trump also shared a 34-second MAGA video, in which he declared, “This is the final battle. With you at my side we will demolish the deep state, we will expel the war mongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists.” The video concludes with a call to action, urging viewers to “Join President Trump’s fight for America. Text Trump to 88022.”

The campaign ads, which have circulated on Trump’s other social media platforms, come just hours before his live interview with Elon Musk on X. Musk has described the conversation as potentially “highly entertaining” and has invited users to submit questions and comments in the stream’s chat. Musk also announced plans to perform system scaling tests in preparation for the interview.

The live interview with Musk is anticipated to be an unrestricted and unscripted discussion.
