Ethiopians celebrated Orthodox Easter on Sunday despite worshippers being stopped from joining the festive Mass amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At the Holy Trinity Orthodox Tewahedo Cathedral in Addis Ababa, only a handful were able to attend prayers with the ceremony instead broadcast live.

In typical years, the cathedral would be filled with thousands of churchgoers for the Easter Mass.As of Sunday Ethiopia has reported 108 cases of COVID-19 and three deaths.
