The Czech Republic's government has approved another shipment of military aid for the Ukrainian army fighting the Russian invasion. Defence Minister Jana Cernochova said on Sunday the weapons were worth 400 million Czech crowns (18 million US dollars).

Cernochova declined to provide details, saying only that those were not light weapons this time. On Saturday, the government agreed to send to Ukraine machine guns, submachine guns, assault rifles and pistols together with ammunition worth 188 million Czech crowns (8.6 million US dollars).

Those weapons were delivered by train to a place determined by the Ukrainian side on Sunday. Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the latest shipment includes the weapons requested on Saturday by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in their telephone call.
