Tighter restrictions came into force in the Czech Republic on Sunday amid a new surge in infections.All shops have had to close apart from those selling essential goods such as food and medicine.Most services, such as hair salons, have also had to shut.
Gatherings of more than two people have been banned, and the overnight curfew has been brought forward to start at 9pm each evening.Almost all schools will remain closed after the New Year break.The Czech Republic has reported 670,599 confirmed cases of coronavirus infections with at least 11,044 deaths.
