France received its first batch of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines on Saturday. The 273,600 doses will be distributed to 117 medical facilities across the country and initially administered to health workers under 65.
The second batch of 304,800 doses is expected for next week.Like other European countries, France has been coping with a coronavirus vaccine shortage amid severe delays in dose supplies and a complex French consent policy designed to accommodate unusually broad vaccine skepticism among the French public.
France started its vaccination campaign in December with the vaccine made by Pfizer.More than two million people have been vaccinated so far.
