After a few Bollywood actresses revealed about their casting couch experience, the wave has gone down south. South Indian actress Sri Reddy in a series of Facebook posts has named actors and filmmakers who promised her a role in the return of sexual favours. However, according to her claims, she was deceived and has now gone on to reveal those names.
SRI REDDY'S ALLEGATION
In an exclusive interview to Republic World, Sri Reddy opens up about the allegations made by her against many Kollywood actors. Talking about the issue, she stated that the people in Kollywood are very big people, and so because of their stature she believed them. However, they have betrayed and cheated on her.
When asked if she has worked in the Malayalam Industry, she disclosed that she put all her faith in the Kollywood Industry, and believed that if nothing, they would give her the role of a second lead.
Shockingly, she also discloses that the 'people in the industry' used her every time she came to Hyderabad.
EXPECT TO SEE A CHANGE?
Speaking to us, Sri Reddy reveals that it is a male-dominated society and she thinks that men are equal to women, and this is not happening in the process.
"These bigwigs think of women as their property, we are puppets or sex dolls. They think we don't have heart, we don’t have life, and they don’t care," she added.
When asked about racial discrimination and career opportunities in the south, she said
Even here, in south India, girls from Mumbai come who are flexible to sexual commitments. They do not encourage local talent because they only look for sexual commitment. We are ready to expose, ready to kiss and take less than Mumbai girls. , still, people do not give chance. (sic)
SEXUAL APPEAL OVER TALENT
Talking about the Kollywood Industry preferring sexual appeal over talent she said-
"Yes, in South India girls have dark skin, while they prefer Mumbai girls who are fair. Heroes can be of any colour , they can be dark and they will go through a hundred plastic surgeries but they will act. Will they allow actors from Bollywood to act? No. They want to be heroes but heroines should be their wish. This is male-dominated, so if they have to do sex with any women, we have to accept, we have to say yes if we say no then obviously we won't get any shooting on the second day. (sic) "
REACTIONS FROM ACCUSED
While talking to DT Next, Lawrence said that these allegations are baseless and reacting to it is beneath his dignity. He clarified that it has been five years since he has choreographed for a Telugu film. The actor sad that everybody in the south knows that Sri Reddy is a notorious person. She does this for publicity and has even targeted stars like Pawan Kalyan and Nani, he added.
Sri Reddy also accused actor Rana Daggubatti's brother Abhiram and even shared intimate pictures of the two.
In a recent interview, Abhiram’s father-producer Suresh Babu reportedly said that it is his personal issue and that he doesn't want to talk about his personal issues and make them public. Suresh Babu further added that he will sort them out in his personal space.
