This year's Time 100 list of the world's most influential people is the youngest ever, as per Time Magazine Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal, containing an incredible 45 well-known names who are under the age of 40.

What's more, at the forefront of decreasing the average age of the world's most influential people is India!

Here are the Indian entries:

'Pioneer' Bhavish Aggarwal

Under the category of 'pioneer' is none other than Ola Cabs co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal,  who at the age of just 32 has spearheaded the cab-hailing revolution in the country.

In his piece about IIT Bombay graduate Aggarwal, who founded Ola Cabs with Ankit Bhati in 2011 at the age of just 26, Sachin Bansal, the co-founder and executive chairman of Flipkart has hailed Ola's significance and expansion into overseas markets, namely Australia. Bansal writes:

"By taking Ola Down Under to Australia this year, he has made it one of the first homegrown tech companies to meaningfully expand outside India. This time, the wishes of a billion Indians, mine included, are riding in his cab."

'Artist' Deepika Padukone

Under the category of artists, India is represented by Deepika Padukone who, for at least three months (if not more) towards the end of 2017 and the start of 2018, was at the centre of the biggest controversy to hit Indian cinema for many a year as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, in which Deepika played the eponymous lead character, came under attack from the Karni Sena and other fringe groups.

Padmavati later released as Padmaavat, and set the box office on fire. Deepika also starred in Hollywood blockbuster xXx: Return of Xander Cage and the lead star of that film, Vin Diesel, has penned her entry into the Time 100:

"So often in the entertainment industry we deal in stereotypes, and people get stuck in certain markets. Deepika is the best Earth has to offer. She’s not just here to represent India; she’s here to represent the world."

'Icon' Virat Kohli

India's youngest entry into the list, under the category of icons, is the iconic 'Captain of India', Virat Kohli, whose star shone brightly in 2017 and 2018, as he excelled on the work front as well as the personal front with his high-profile Italy wedding with Bollywood star Anushka Sharma. While #Virushka set the social media charts on fire, Team India smashed South Africa in South Africa winning the ODI series 5-1 with Kohli setting the record for highest runs scored in a bilateral ODI series with a total of 558.

The 29-year Kohli is in the prime of his career and will be hoping to have the biggest year of his career from now on -- he's chasing his first IPL title, and also, the 2019 Cricket World Cup!

Sachin Tendulkar writes the following about the player who is widely considered to be his successor:

"The U-19 World Cup in 2008 was very important for India, as it would define the next bunch of youngsters who would go on to represent the nation. That was the first time I watched this young, passionate player lead India. Today Virat Kohli is a household name and a champion in cricket. Even back then, his hunger for runs and consistency was remarkable, something that has become the hallmark of his game."

'Leader' Satya Nadella

And under the category of Leaders, India is ably represented by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella who apart from leading one of the world's most influential companies is also a flagbearer of how much Indians have contributed to the global tech industry.

Satya Nadella took over as the chief of Microsoft in early 2014 succeeding Steve Ballmer under whom the company had seemingly lost its edge and most definitely, the battle for mobile. The Redmond, Washington based company has since focused its attention on the Manipal Institute of Technology-graduate Nadella's 'mobile first, cloud first' approach.

In his piece about Satya Nadella, Walter Isaacson, who knows a thing or two about writing about rockstar tech-chiefs, says:

"In the four years since he inherited a sticky wicket, Microsoft’s market value has increased 130%. More important, the company is now making products that feel more user-friendly, empathetic and collaborative."

The average age of India's four 'World's most influential people' is 35.5 years!
