'Howdy, Modi': Houston University students' special 'Namaste' message
Howdy, Modi! Houston students are excited at the anticipation of welcoming PM Modi to the city, and they have released a video saying, 'Namaste' PM Modi
The Texas community is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 'Howdy, Modi!' event on September 22. This is clearly visible from the official Twitter page for Texas India Forum, who is the host of the "Howdy, Modi!" community summit in Houston. Texas India Forum's twitter page is constantly updated with user-submitted videos of various US citizens who are eagerly awaiting for PM Modi's visit. Texan citizens and in particular the students of Houston is excited at the anticipation of welcoming PM Modi to the city.
'Namaste' PM Modi
The Students of the University Of Houston made a video sending out a message to PM Modi. With just 3 days to go, they are quite excited.
In the video, the students can be adorably heard saying, "Namaste! Howdy, Modi! Welcome to Houston!"
Cheering for PM Modi
Texas India Forum has put out several clips in which citizens, including American-Indians, are happily cheering for PM Modi, awaiting his arrival.
Children are also quite optimistic about the visit.
In all these video clips, citizens can be seen calling out to PM Modi and welcoming him to Texas. Clearly, the excitement level in Texas, among the citizens, is quite high.
Billboards
Apart from these, the Twitter page has also shared images of billboards that have been put up on the streets of Houston, welcoming PM Modi to the USA.
'Howdy, Modi!'
The Houston event will be PM Modi's third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the Prime Minister in 2014 and the first after his re-election in May. The previous two were at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and the Silicon Valley in 2016. The 'Howdy, Modi!' event is being organised by the Texas India Forum, which is a recently-formed representative body of hundreds of Indian American organisations in Texas and other parts of the US. At the event, PM Modi is going to address the largest gathering of Indian-Americans with 50,000 attendees reported to attend the event.
US President Trump will join PM Modi on the stage. A number of US lawmakers, members of both Houses of Congress, and mayors are slated to attend the event.
