Democratic Presidential aspirant and the first Hindu woman in the U.S. Congress Tulsi Gabbard has extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his latest visit to the United States of America. She tweeted on September 21, just before PM Modi arrived in Houston. She wrote that she is glad to see many Indian Americans from all across the United States as well as many of her colleagues in Congress coming together for the ‘Howdy, Modi’ event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Houston, Texas on Saturday. He tweeted about arriving in the US saying 'Howdy Houston'. He was welcomed with a red carpet and greeted by the Director, Trade and International Affairs, Christopher Olson and other officials. PM Modi is set to attend the roundtable with Energy Sector CEOs and the mega 'Howdy, Modi!' event.

Republic TV spoke to the Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner ahead of the 'Howdy, Modi' event in Texas in the United States on Saturday, just a day ahead of the mega-event. Mayor Turner said that for Houston, the even is as big as Super Bowl, which is a huge sporting spectacle in the United States. Turner said the number of people and the kind of dignitaries attending the event makes 'Howdy, Modi!' as big as the Super Bowl. He said that the city is treating it important as the annual football championship game.
